This very small 1/64" long, red to olive green mite can be a big problem! They can migrate into homes in very large numbers. Though they are harmless inside, they can damage surfaces with the stain that occurs when crushed. Clover mites are plant feeders and migrate from lawn areas. Large "blooms" are usually associated with heavily fertilized lawns. They are a common pest in newer construction (1-5 years old). Treatments can be performed to reduce numbers gaining access to the structure.
