Bumble Bees

Do They Cause Damage?

They do not cause any structural damage. In some cases they can build nests within structures gaining access through holes and cracks in the foundation and under the bottom of siding. While not overly aggressive, they are capable of stinging and will defend the nest if disturbed. As with ALL bees and wasps, stings can produce a life-threating allergic reaction in sensitive individuals.

Do I Have An Infestation?

Bumble Bees most often make their nest underground and can be found under porches and walkways. Sightings of live insects is usually how nests are found. Finding several indoors may indicate the presence of a nest inside the structure.

What Can Masters Touch Do?

We can perform a thorough inspection to locate the nest and apply an appropriate treatment to eliminate them.

How Can You Help?

There is not much you can do to prevent Bumble Bees from constructing a nest underground. However, sealing cracks and crevices, repairing rotted wood trim, window and door frames can help prevent them from building a nest in the structure.

More Information

Bumble Bees will overwinter in the nest. If you saw them going under the porch this year and did not seek treatment, you can expect to see them in the spring.
